One thing that (most of us) can agree on is the significance of vaccines.
Children, especially infants, are prone to a wide spectrum of diseases, some of which can even be deadly.
However, unfortunately, some people still don’t have faith in the immense difference a vaccine can make.
It was one such mother who, despite her sister’s advice, refused to vaccinate her daughter. However, her family was left in shock and terror when the infant was diagnosed with a rare bacterial infection.
Little Aryn was only 7 weeks old when the doctors said she had Haemophilus Influenzae (HIB), a rare bacterial disease which can either be fatal or benign. It can affect people of all age ranges and can even enter the bloodstream, reports CDC. It was also reported that the infection typically affects infants and children under age 5.
When the infant was diagnosed with the fatal disease, her entire family was left awestruck. Fortunately, the disease wasn’t too severe, and she will be fine. But her aunt, Alecia Rankin, has been begging the mother to vaccinate her.
Alecia even shared a photo of her niece to the social network Facebook, inciting others to vaccinate their kids. On the 3rd of December, a message was shared on Alecia’s Facebook which left many people in shock.
The post gained widespread attention and got over 17000 shares in just 10 days.
Alecia told the tragic story of her niece, and how she was fighting with a rare form of HIB flu. She also stated that the disease was so rare that her physician had never before seen it in her career, as the bacterium was thought to have been eradicated by rapid vaccination.
Babies usually get their first vaccine in about 2 months, which little Aryn hadn’t gotten yet. She spoke out against all parents who regard vaccines as a physically and mentally degrading invention and said that vaccination must be made mandatory for all.
She also shared updates on the spinal tap of her niece for meningitis. Hopefully, the results will be negative.
She updated that the baby was sent home from the hospital and was hopefully doing great.
She expressed her gratitude for the wishes and prayers of all her family and friends and Facebook followers. Despite some controversy, a majority of her followers supported the message.
One lady commented that Aryn’s story was quite frightening and would hopefully scare others into vaccinating their kids too.
Another commenter talked about her own son’s HIB, and the 4 days of severe pneumonia that followed, only before meningitis kicked in. She said that her family had just returned from Disney World, and were in a heartwrenching situation.
One woman shared the story of her son, who had only ever been seriously sick twice. She said that she had gotten him vaccinated and thankfully the process had saved him from any serious disorders. Vaccination should definitely be mandatory for the kids.
