A mother has revealed how she was left shocked and angry to the core after her partner gave their daughter a brand-new haircut.
25-year-old Marla Hayden from Sudbury, England, has banned her boyfriend, 30-year-old Jordan Deane, from touching their 2-year-old daughter’s hair after giving her a “horrendous” haircut during the lockdown.
As the young lady explained, she cried angry tears after seeing her daughter, Holly, and realizing that Jordan had chopped her golden locks at the front to create the once-popular bowl cut.
“It’s 100 per cent safe to say her dad is banned from cutting her hair again. It looked awful. It was a really big mess. I was really upset and felt really angry he’d done it. It took me a few weeks to get over the shock of it,” Marla says.
“I was at my mum’s at the time and he took it upon himself to cut it. He didn’t tell me until he picked me up. I got in the car and Holly was in her car seat. She’s rear-facing and I looked in her little mirror. I just saw her hair and I was really upset. I said ‘What have you done?’”
As the mother added, Jordan took her leave as an opportunity to cut Holly’s hair after complaining that her hair was always in the way of her eyes.
“I was crying angry silent tears in the car. I was mortified. I knew the school photo was coming up with her and her brother. It’d have been their first one with her while she was at the nursery at his school,” Marla complained.
“It took a good few months to get to a decent length and I’ve only just been able to take her to get it neatened up again in the last couple of weeks.”
Though she wasn’t happy with her boyfriend’s actions, Marla eventually admitted that Jordan was regretful of his actions because he came to realize that he had made a big mistake.
As for Holly, she couldn’t be any happier with the haircut her dad gave her.
“She was quite happy with it and said ‘Daddy’s done my hair – do you like it?’ I was like ‘yeah, really like it’ pretending, secretly thinking ‘what have you done?’” Marla added.
“She kept showing it off to people and saying ‘look what Daddy’s done.’ I just had to pretend and say ‘yeah, lovely isn’t it.’”
