A mother has been slammed online after footage of her instructing her young son to steal Christmas presents from another family went viral.
The incident took place in Leicester Forest East, England, where Emma and Anthony Fryer, who share three children, were shocked to discover that the Christmas presents they had prepared were stolen from outside the front door of their home.
While the parents typically place the light-up presents underneath the Christmas tree inside their home, Emma decided to move the boxes outside the house after the lights stopped working.
After the mother-of-three displayed the presents outside her home and went on a shopping trip for new lights, she returned home only to discover that the presents were gone.
When the couple reviewed the security camera footage, they noticed that a young boy, who was accompanied by his mother, stole the presents and ran away with them.
In the footage, the mother is seen pushing a stroller while instructing her young son to pick up the family’s gifts.
“The mum is like Fagin getting him to take them. I just want to embarrass her now because I think what she’s done is disgusting,” Emma said.
“I was more shocked at the fact that she made her child do it, I definitely wouldn’t have expected a parent to do that. If it was a grown-up I wouldn’t be as shocked but she got a child to do it.
“I’m a mother myself and to think I’d get my children to do that, well I just never would. It’s not teaching her children the right thing.”
As the upset homeowner added, the footage makes it clear that the young boy paused as he noticed the presents. He then looked towards his mother, as if awaiting a command, before charging towards the house and picking up the gifts.
“He’s sort of coaxed into it,” Emma added. “I understand everyone’s having hard times, but come on. I would suggest she re-thinks her parenting skills in the future.”
