A mother has been widely shamed and slammed for being “unhinged” after wearing a white dress to her son’s wedding and imitating the style of his bride.
Pictures of the mother-of-the-groom in her white dress were posted on a Facebook group dedicated to wedding shaming.
“This is my husband’s aunt at her son’s wedding. Lady, TF are you doing?” one person wrote under the controversial pictures.
As seen in the photos from the day of the wedding, the mother of the groom was not only wearing a random white dress but one that closely imitated the style of her son’s bride’s dress.
Soon enough, the pictures went viral with people accusing the mother of trying to steal the attention on her son’s wedding day.
“How f*****g unhinged do you have to be to dress like a bride at your SON’S wedding?” one commenter wrote.
“What a pathetic attention seeker,” another one added.
One woman suggested: “I’d have ‘accidentally’ spilled my wine on her and mashed cake into her dress. Sorry, sis. You’re rainbow now.”
While some people went on to praise the mum’s looks and the dress itself, everyone agreed it wasn’t appropriate to wear such a gown to someone else’s wedding.
“I honestly might consider not kicking her out if this happened to me just because of sheer bravery of this bold, bold move,” one person joked.
Just last month, another wedding guest was slammed in the same Facebook group after suggesting she would don a floor-length white lace dress to another’s wedding.
On Facebook, the woman wrote: “Ladies, can I get some hair and makeup suggestions for this dress? I’m attending a destination wedding next week.”
Soon enough, people slammed the woman for planning to dress as a bride for another’s wedding.
“HELL NO. If she attends a wedding in that, she better expect to be immediately escorted out. She looks like a bride [and] 100% probably planned on stealing the spotlight,” one person wrote.
“I severely hope she wasn’t an important person in whoever’s wedding she’s attending. If she even still is.”
