A woman has claimed to spot an outline of Jesus in the devastating flames which ravaged the historic Notre Dame Cathedral on Monday evening.
Lesley Rowan said she was reading about the tragic incident when she happened to notice a figure in the billowing smoke in one of the pictures.
The woman, from Alexandria in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland, then took to Facebook to share the silhouette with people around the world.
Posting a picture of the inferno in which Lesley had circled a portion of flames, she wrote: ‘I may be letting my mind play tricks on me here, folks take a close look at this picture and what do you see.’

It didn’t take long before several other users commented to reinforce her belief, saying they could also see Jesus in the blaze that swapped the 850-year-old cathedral.
‘When I looked at this photo last night, I was really astounded by what I saw. When I look at it I see a silhouette of Jesus. I really see a vivid image,’ the 38-year-old mother told the Daily Record.
‘I feel like it will bring comfort to people in Paris and all over the world at this sad time.’

The social media users agreeing to Lesley said: ‘I can see it pretty clear, gown and all,’ and ‘Yeah I saw it straight away – it’s Jesus!’
Another wrote: ‘Looks like a figure of Jesus, or I am tripping?’
However, some people disagreed, with one insisting it looked like a ‘statue’ while another saying it was ‘opposite of amazing.’

Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron vowed to rebuild the historic cathedral within the next five years.
‘We will rebuild Notre Dame even more beautifully and I want it to be completed in five years, we can do it,’ he said in a televised address on Tuesday.
