A woman who was too ashamed of her big forehead to show it off in the public has undergone expensive surgery to reduce its size.
26-year-old Camilla Coleman Brooks is a North Carolina mom-of-two who spent years hiding her ‘large’ forehead, which was reportedly more than an inch over the average forehead size in the country, whenever she would leave her home.
As Camilla explained, she had felt insecure about her forehead for ten years before finally deciding to undergo a $7,000 reduction surgery to make it over an inch smaller.
“I used to look in the mirror and all I would see was a huge forehead. When I was younger I would always style my hair and notice how big it looked,” she said.
“For the last few years I’ve hid it under a fringe or a hat. I am so happy with the results now that I’ve had the surgery. I didn’t need the procedure to make me happy, but I love how I now look.”
While the young mother admitted no one actually bullied her because of her forehead, she insisted that undergoing a size reduction was something she needed to do for herself to feel better in her own skin.
“Having surgery was something I wanted to do for myself. It wasn’t that I didn’t like how I looked, I just wanted to be more proportional,” Camilla expressed following a successful procedure.
While she was left with a numb forehead and immobile eyebrows in the days following the surgery, the 26-year-old is now already doing better and couldn’t be happier with the results.
As Camilla revealed, her decision to have her forehead reduced resulted in suffering some negative feedback because people were “shocked” by the uncommon procedure.
“It was something I wanted to do for myself and I couldn’t be happier with the results,” she concluded in spite of the backlash.
