A mother has been branded “selfish” and “disrespectful after donning what looks like the oldest tracksuit she could find and wearing it at her son’s wedding.
According to the person who shared the story, along with pictures as proof, on a Facebook page called ‘That’s It I’m Wedding Shaming,’ the wedding she attended was “gorgeous” until the mother of the groom decided to steal the attention by jumping into her tracksuit.
“OMG!!! Y’all I am in absolute shock that I just attended a gorgeous (And expensive) wedding which then turned into a WTF! Yes that is [the] mother of the groom in sweats,” the US-based wedding guest wrote in her post.
“Cake hadn’t been cut. Toasts Hadn’t been made. She literally changed into a f***ing tracksuit as soon as dinner began. I’m embarrassed for her and feel so bad for the couple. No case, dance, toast, and bouquet toss pics will be of a well-dressed wedding party.
“Her horrible daughter and son in law followed suit and left early. People are so s*****. Needless to say the bride’s family all thought it was gross and classless too!”
Soon enough, the post went viral with thousands of people condemning the mother for her choice of wear.
“Like honestly, I don’t get why it’s so hard to wear a nice outfit for one night. I’ve only been to three weddings in my life … and I’ve managed to stay in my nice clothes the whole time,” someone wrote.
“That’s one way to say you hate your daughter-in-law,” another one said, suggesting that the mother must be against the bride and her son’s relationship to do something like that.
However, apparently, this isn’t an isolated case.
“My mother did the same thing, changed right after the ceremony,” someone claimed in their comment. “I didn’t get any good pictures of her in the pretty dress I helped pick out but plenty of her in a purple Vikings sweatsuit.”
