According to the reports, the children had been staying with their dad during court-ordered visitation amid bitter divorce between Adam and Mary Nielsen, the mother of the two young children.

As Nielsen explained, she contacted the authorities and pleaded for help on social media after she stopped hearing from her estranged husband on Thursday even though he was supposed to make sure she was allowed to communicate with her children on a daily basis during court-ordered visitations.

On Sunday morning, days after the woman started worrying about the wellbeing of her kids, Theodore and Emily were found dead at their father’s home in Bellevue.

At the time of the discovery, Mr. Price was nowhere to be seen, whereas it wasn’t until Sunday evening that he was arrested in Pacifica, California, some 1,600 miles from his home. The authorities have since confirmed that the children’s deaths are being investigated as homicides.

Following her children’s premature passing, Nielsen spoke out and told Lincoln Journal Star that her estranged husband was “abusive, controlling and manipulative.” She also paid a touching tribute to her little angels on Facebook.

“I’m so sorry to see you two go. You did not deserve this and I love you so very much. I would fight a thousand fights to have you back again,” the devastated mom wrote.

“Heaven gained two beautiful angels and I hope great grandpa was at the gates to greet you. You were the only reasons I survived everything I did and the only reason I am alive. I love you. Til we meet again my sweet babies.”
