There’s nothing more beautiful than when the brave men and women who serve our country reunite with their families in a loving embrace.
Well, okay, I lied. There is something that is just a bit more beautiful. When the soldiers surprise their families! Seeing the reactions on their faces are just so priceless!
The soldiers tell a little white lie that they will be arriving a couple days later than they actually are and then they go to a place where they’re least expected and surprise their families!
This one soldier wanted to surprise his mother while she was on the job! It’s a pretty unique place to surprise someone.

This soldier, named Larry, had told his mother that he was expecting to be home at the end of July, but instead he was actually coming home a month earlier. Way ahead of most surprises we see, which tend to be a couple of days to a week earlier.
Larry is sitting alone in the middle of a plaza in his camo uniform reading a newspaper. A bit of an unusual sight for most as you can catch a few people giving him curious stares, but it’s because he’s planning a surprise. Eventually his mother walks in the frame.
She, too, gives the man a stare and then a second. She finally checks the man out a third time making sure it’s who she really thinks it is and then she asks him “Larry?”. The soldier lays down the papers as she jumps into his arms! She’s so excited to see him as she screams.
After a long loving hug the mother finally sees the camera. Her reaction is absolutely priceless. She had absolutely no idea she was about to meet her son after his long deployment like that. It’s hard not to feel really happy yourself at how beautiful it is!
Make sure you jump to around 1:10 in the video as the mother had gone the wrong way initially so it took a bit longer for the surprise to come! It is so worth it though!
