It is always suggested that you shouldn’t allow anyone to kiss your baby because babies are sensitive and they can catch infections faster than we realize.
Recently, a 24-year-old mother, Hayley Etheridge, warns everyone after her three-year-old son, Baylie Grey caught Herpes after being kissed by a relative.
The baby’s face covered with a full rash, which was caused by the herpes virus. A baby’s immune system is not that strong at a young age, and such infections can be harmful to them. It is essential to take extra care of your babies.
Sometimes the virus can even result in deadly complications to the baby, and it is terrifying for the parents. The doctors said that if Baylie’s virus got till his eyes, then there are high chances that he can go blind.
Thankfully, Baylie’s virus got recovered, and their second son didn’t catch it, but the parents decided to spread more awareness for other parents with small babies.
When the 24-year-old mother was 34 weeks pregnant with her second baby, she noticed that Baylie’s face was covered with rashes.
So she decided to consult a doctor where she got to know that he got this virus through some other person’s salvia and skin to skin contact.
Hayley thought that her kid caught the virus because of being kissed by their relative, but there was no way to be sure about it. Hayley couldn’t stop crying after discovering the complications that can be caused to her baby.
Also, the doctors said that if the virus passes to her newborn baby, then it can cause brain damage, blindness or he can even be born a stillborn.
She started monitoring and keeping a check on her baby and thankfully, he was born without Herpes. Bayley gets the virus only when he is down, and till now, he has been taken to the hospital twice for the infection.
Being a concerned parent, Hayley wants to warn all the other parents to make sure that their baby’s do not have skin to skin with anyone.
