A mother-of-two has revealed that her ‘life was better without’ children and wishes that she never had them.
The unnamed mom says she loves her kids “with all of my heart” but she wants to voice her opinion that is “not ever said out loud by many people.”
She explained that before having kids, she enjoyed her career and loved traveling with her husband. But when they decided to have children, the mother-of-two said that everything just changed.
“I am a mother of two, but I wish I was a mother of none,” she wrote on Kidspot.
“We had both wanted kids and we were excited about our first son’s arrival but for me, when it did happen, the reality just didn’t meet the expectation.
“I love him of course and he was an ‘easy’ baby in terms of sleeping and feeding and everything that makes a baby ‘easy’, but I just didn’t love being a mum; I didn’t love anything about it.
“It was the opposite, I was a person I never wanted to be – trapped and restricted by my own child.”
Despite those feelings, they decided to have another child hoping things will change for the better. However, the mother still felt like she had completely lost her identity.
The mother-of-two also describes her kids as ‘obstacles’ getting in the way of how she wants to live, adding becoming a parent has changed her life and she became frustrated and uninspired.
“If I knew how I would feel after having kids, I never would have had them because, trust me, this is not how I want to live my life,” she finishes her open letter.
