A lady motorcyclist from eastern China escaped a certain death after a concrete mixer truck ran over her head.
Ms. Zhu was rescued by her helmet after being thrown from her electric scooter by a car door on Tuesday in Zhejiang state, police said.
She said that without the helmet she would have been dead, as she only got bruises and cuts to the scalp during this horrible accident.
The accident occurred around 9 o’clock in the Houdu village of Jinhua City.
A surveillance video released by Jinhua police depicts the truck traveling along Dongyang Jie when Ms.Zhu’s electric scooter nearly caught up with it.
Suddenly, a car driver opened his car door on the side of the road knocking the motorcyclist off her scooter. The impact of the collision with the car pushed Ms. Zhu under the rear wheels of the truck, which then passed over her head.The driver of the truck, Mr.
Jiang, said that he had seen Ms. Zhu jump off from her scooter, so he thumped the brake.He said he was out of his truck and saw the woman bleeding on the head.
He said that the pieces of the helmet were scattered on the road next to her. The driver, who opened the door, asked for an ambulance. He also informed the police, according to the report.According to the report Ms. Zhu, a locale of Jinhua, is a mother of a boy and a girl. Her youngest daughter is five years old. She was taken to Wenrong Hospital. The medical examination showed that she suffered bruise and laceration on the scalp, but no brain damage.
Jinhua police are continuing with their investigation of the accident. The authorities have advised the public to wear helmets when riding on two-wheelers.
