Following a life-threatening accident happened yesterday, where two lorries collided, the M6 motorway was reopened.
Reportedly, the lorries were carrying highly inflammable concentrated gin out of which one was having a total of 32,000 liters.
The gin started leaking to the carriageway after the collision.
The incident took place around 5:30 pm last night when the M6 Northbound carriageway was closed between junctions 19 and 20.
As 32,000 liters of highly inflammable gin was spiling on the carriageway, fire crew rushed to the spot and doused the motorway in foam.
Once the fire crew worked overnight to control the spilling situation, the Cheshire Police announced that M6 has reopened for both directions.
The efforts of everyone involved in the rescue was appreciated mainly, the fire crew who took the right decision at the right time first minimize the severity of the gin by dousing the motorway foam.
Cheshire Police confirmed with their tweet that the M6 motorway has been opened again and the situation is under control.
Nantwich Police confirmed with their tweet that there were no serious injuries and everything is under control.
There were several tweets afterward that majorly included people acknowledging the efforts of police officials and fire crew who took the right steps to control the situation.
In a statement given by the Cheshire Police, they have stated that because of flammability of the alcohol and looking into the severity it can bring, they had to close the motorway from 19 and 20 junctions.
Fire crew came into action when they put a 300m cordon as a precautionary measure. They started evacuating people from their vehicles who were trapped in the traffic.
Though the incident could have taken a dreadful turn as it involved a massive amount of concentrate gin, with the help of fire crew and Cheshire police the situation was handled carefully without any possible injury to anyone.
