Regardless of how fireworks are astounding to watch, these are just the chemical reactions which is harmful for environment.
And banning the sales of fireworks has long been a topic of debate.
With so many social media posts against fireworks and how these are affecting seniors and pets, it has now been a thing to have a second thought about. The recent news indicates that more than 160,000 people have signed a petition to ban the sale of fireworks.
According to the recent report, a petition has been set up and has passed about 100,000 signatures mark which means that the parliament must consider it!
According to what the petition indicates, it causes noise, thereby causing stress, anxiety, and fear in animals. It also added that fireworks also cause specific environmental damage via fires, since it releases poisonous chemicals as well as smoke.
Inhaling the smoke not only wildlife but also contaminates the environment.
Earlier Sainsbury’s banned fireworks’ sales in 2,300 stores. Right after this event, the current petition has come, thereby leaving more than 160,000 signs for it. More to add, another petition arrived this year where over 305,000 people signed it.
What did the Government state?
The Government has already stated that it has recognized concerns.
However, it already felt rules would strike the balance among enjoyment, safety, and religious prominence! According to the current rules, the licensed sellers are allowed to sell fireworks!
On the other hand, the registered sellers are licensed to sell them during a short time period during prominent celebrations like New Year, Bonfire Night, Chinese New Year, Diwali, and more.
Additionally, the ones buying fireworks should be above 18 years of age.
However, not many other supermarkets have made the decision to ban fireworks completely.
