A single mum has spoken out and revealed she was shocked after her best friend approached her with an unusual offer – to sleep with her husband.
As Australia-based Sally revealed in an interview with Dr Nikki Goldstein, a sexologist, her friend of many years suffers from a “non-existent sex drive” and wants her to take part in the sexual relationship she and her husband have.
While Sally admitted she hadn’t ruled the offer out on the stop, she said things could get weird between them because they do “a lot of family stuff together.”
In order to encourage her friend to change her mind, the woman allegedly went as far as sending Sally articles on polyamory and polyamorous couples for encouragement.
Responding to Sally who was looking for advice, Dr. Goldstein wrote:
“This might sound a bit odd to you Sally, but don’t ever judge somebody for what their sexual desires are. We all have a unique and different way of constructing a relationship.”
In addition, the sexologist praised Sally’s friend for being open and honest enough to share this with her despite the awkwardness associated with the topic.
“If she doesn’t have a sex drive towards her partner anymore and her partner still desires sex, then maybe being able to form some sort of relationship with you might be a great idea,” she added.
As Goldstein went on to say, Sally should think about what she really wants and go forward with her friend’s plan if she’s attracted to her husband.
“How would you feel about being in a polyamorous relationship and having her as a friend but having a relationship with her husband?” she suggested.
