A 7-year-old boy fell 30ft to the ground from a roller coaster at Lightwater Valley theme park near Ripon, North York’s.
The mother screamed so loudly when she saw her son hanging from the roller coaster fall so badly.
So many people witnessed the whole incident, and one of them said that the boy suddenly slid out of the carriage and fell 30ft to the ground.
A father who witnessed the incident said that when the mother saw her son hanging backward out of the carriage, she started shouting so loudly.
Simon Moran, a father who was visiting the park that day, tweeted on his account that he saw a kid fall off the twister rollercoaster in the theme park.
He said that probably the kid was too small for this right or he wasn’t strapped down on the carriage correctly. As the roller coaster started going fast, the kid suddenly slid out and was hanging onto the carriage and then fell 30ft down on the ground.
Ambulance and the cops immediately ran towards the scene, and the roller coaster was immediately shut down. The boy was taken to the Leeds General Infirmary and is being treated for his injuries.
Mark Charnley, who was there at the theme park with his wife and two daughters, said that we saw the boy hanging down and his mother shouting hysterically.
The man witnessed the incident when he was standing in the queue with his daughter for the same ride.
He further said that he lost the sight of the little boy as he fell out of the carriage. The operator didn’t notice this till the time the crowd started shouting.
The same incident took place on the same ride years ago when a Durham University student who was 20 years old known as Gemma Savage died after the collision happened on the ride.
One of the police officers who took the ride said that he was asked about the safety belt as an option. There was 5 years old who got trapped at the edge of the carriage in 2012, and she suffered from nerve damage, torn ligament, and cartilage.
