A pregnant woman is putting forward her rants on Reddit, revealing how her ex’s mother wants her baby to call her mummy instead of granny.
Taking the internet by storm, the woman revealed how she was looking for some advice that would calm her soul and her nerves because she’s had enough. Moreover, the woman also revealed how her former mother-in-law feels it’s so important to set up boundaries and this just might be the perfect time to do so.
While the woman doesn’t wish to be rude, she feels that since the baby is hers, he or she has the right to call his real mom ‘mummy’ and not his granny.
With little to no support from her husband too, the woman also went on to add how she’s had enough.
And for that reason, she’s turning to the world wide web for some help.“I agree that this is her grandchild but wait, it’s my child first,” the woman added furiously.
The soon-to-be mother who is 8 months pregnant says that while nicknames for grandparents are a cute idea, jumping from granny to mummy is just too much for her to handle.
But that isn’t the only major problem that she’s currently facing. Yes, the woman revealed how she and her ex had so many issues amongst themselves. At first, he was reluctant to step in and play his role as the baby’s father. But now, she feels that they’re both in a good space and seem to be getting along as well.
However, every time she appears to bring that same subject up with her ex relating to his mother and her nagging demands, he just refuses to listen or even step in.
Now, the woman has asked readers from Reddit for their two cents on the matter. And that’s where many people felt that the former mother-in-law had definitely overstepped her boundaries.
“You need to tell her to get a reality check,” wrote one angry user. In the same way, another went about explaining how this just wasn’t cool and people like her need to be shown boundaries using a bold permanent marker.
