A 56-year-old woman was left furious after her neighbors left a note on her car saying the vehicle made the street look like Beirut.
Julia Laursen from Newport was stunned when she was told that her Skoda brought down their ‘respectable’ neighborhood.
The note also says that she should park somewhere more appropriate – like the ‘dump.’
But Julia snapped back and urged her friends to visit the area in Shanklin, Isle of Wight to annoy her snobby neighbors.
“I hope you don’t mind, but would you kindly not park your vehicle on this road please?” the cruel note reads.
“This is a nice respectable road and it now looks like Beirut. We don’t drive such vehicles so perhaps you could in future park it somewhere more appropriate.
“Like the dump!”
Angry Julia took to Facebook and shared a photo of the note, writing: “What the f***. Because my car isn’t a show off Range Rover or some other 4×4 for popping the kids to and from school.
“Call all my island friends with slightly rougher, but much loved looking vehicles.
“Pop over to Littlestairs Road in Shanklin and give these t**ts a taste of what Beirut might look like.”
Her post quickly went viral and locals also sided with her.
One person commented: “I think you should keep parking there, install a dash cam to see who keeps coming to put a note and then politely tell them that you pay your road tax so unless DVLA tells you otherwise, you are free to park there. Alternatively, can the residents maybe pay for a new ‘worthy’ car for you instead?”
Another wrote: “This has made my day Julia. It is extremely funny but so sad to see the sort of privilege the people that wrote this came from.”
Someone else shared: “Terrible i once worked in a hotel in alton in hampshire called the angel hotel and yes this is true i had a bmw x5 4×4 old one and i was told to park it in nearby field this sort of car i had to have as hotel out in the sticks ( jealous manager).”
