It was an emotional moment when retired musician Neil Diamond came out of his retired life after two long years and performed for a unique charitable fundraiser in Las Vegas.
Diamond, who had left his singing career a couple of years ago after he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, sang seven of his top hits for fans wearing his iconic glittery gold jackets.
It was the first instance of him singing at length of the stage after Diamond abandoned his career as a singer on his 50th-anniversary celebration in the same city, Los Angeles.
Fans were overwhelmed with joy seeing their favorite singer on the stage, with the crowd giving the brave singer a standing ovation.
Diamond made his entry on the stage with the words “Hello again,” which is the name of one of his hit songs.
The superstar looked fairly active as he walked and bounced across the stage and danced to make his performance worthwhile for his fans.
The crowd sang with the singer as he performed his hits including Cracklin’ Rose, Love On The Rocks, September Morning, Forever In Blue Jeans, and I Am I Said.
Throughout his time on the stage, Diamond was fairly active, as if telling the crowd that his energy and talent were still with him. He only took breaks to drink water during his performance.
To end his awesome performance, he performed his anthem, Sweet Caroline.
At the end of his performance, the singer bowed to the audience and said: “God bless us; each and everyone one of us.” Waving once again at his eager fans, the star walked off the stage in full grace.
Diamond appeared to be in fairly good health as he performed on the stage and his bodily movements had no signs of the disease, however, he did not speak much of the disease.
Samantha Jackson, who was in the audience, said of the event: “This is what a truly emotional and powerful performance.
“The world never thought Neil would perform again, but his 25-minute medley was special and breathtakingly emotional.
“There are very few artists in the world who could raise a crowd like that especially with the emotions of everyone knowing what he is battling.
“It was a magical night and truly special.”
