Social media allows people to express their thoughts and opinions.
However, this also goes for those who want to insult and bully other people online. Such behaviors affect people’s self-esteem to the point that they’re scared to upload their ‘original’ photos online.
In some cases, photos uploaded to Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms are photoshopped or edited so that they can be pleasing to the eyes of many. After all, no one likes to read negative comments from friends or even strangers.
Stephanie and Arryn are a young couple from Texas who will get married soon. Although they aren’t models, they are friends with a talented photographer Bria Terry of Wolf & Rose Photography. Even though she was nervous, Stephanie took part in a boudoir photoshoot, and the results won the internet!
The photos were uploaded on the Facebook page of Wolf & Rose Photography. What surprised them is that the images have gone viral! The chemistry, beauty, and love are evident in the images, generating likes and positive reactions from thousands of people.
“This makes my heart so happy and gives me hope as a plus size woman that not all men care about what size you are,” one person commented.
Stephanie grabbed this opportunity to promote body positivity to those who are facing problems with unrealistic expectations by mainstream and social media. “I remember being in high and looking at myself in the mirror, wondering why my stomach wasn’t the way it was ‘supposed’ to be,” she shared.
“Over the years, I’ve come to accept that I am always going to be considered plus-size. I push myself out of my comfort zone by wearing clothes that I love but aren’t in society’s mold of what is acceptable for bigger women, like crop tops, tight shirts, shorter dresses and shorts. I walk around with my head high, smiling, and show no shame in myself.”
Thanks to this photoshoot, she was able to express herself. Stephanie also enjoyed the experience, and loves the result! “I was shocked. I look so in love and confident. Every person should be able to see themselves in that light. It is really eye-opening.”
