Netflix recently released a new documentary showing Michael Jordon’s final season with Chicago Bulls.
The Last Dance exhibit the basketball legend’s rise to the top and how his team fought for the 1997/98 NBA Championship.
It was a memorable and iconic season for Jordon as well as the Bulls, a team that claimed six titles in eight years.
The documentary series is divided into ten parts that include interviews and locker room footages that we have never seen. It basically showcases a journey that reveals what it took for the player and his team to win this coveted championship.
In an interview segment of the documentary, Will Perdue, the former center of the Bulls, tells the audience about the mental strength and focus of Jordon to win the title.
He said that people already had a picture in their mind where the team has defeated Cleavland in the last shot, and Jordon was completely pumped up for the match.
He further added that this is what the team knew; the competitive Jordon who wins at all costs. Will said that there were times when his team members even questioned whether or not he is human or had any feelings.
A majority of the time, he was just the guy who only focused on one thing, and that was it for him.
He added that the only emotions that the team had seen out of him were frustration or anger.
After Michael Jordon watched the series, he revealed that he was worried about what his fans would think about the aggressive behavior. The 57-year old sports legend in an interview revealed that some scenes were too intense, and he did not feel okay about them.
He said that when people would see this footage, he is not sure whether or not his fans will be able to understand why he was so intense and aggressive back then.
But Jordans fans seem to understand his emotions because so far the documentary has received a lot of positive feedbacks.
Phil Rosenthal, from Chicago Tribune, wrote that it is an ideal diversion and tribute to the shared sacrifice of the legend and team.
