The way the first season of Dead To Me ended left us all waiting for the next iteration of the show.
(It looks like the ability to watch all the episodes of a season in one go has made us impatient viewers.)
At this point, we do not have any confirmed information about the availability of the second season of the series but here’s some light of hope for the desperate fans.
In a recent statement, one of the actors in the show, Linda Cardellini, has announced that the filming for the second season of Netflix’s dark humor series has ended.
Cardellini shared a photo of herself with the show’s producer Liz Feldman and co-star Christina Applegate on Instagram, captioning it: “Last day of shooting @deadtome #season2 today.
Also, this article includes spoilers from season 1!!!!
“THANK YOU to the brilliant and incredible #christinaapplegate & @thelizfeldman for everything every day. I love you both.”
She added: “PS – we are very excited for everyone to see what we have been doing…”
All the fans of the series can totally reciprocate the feelings Cardellini has.
The story of the first show revolves around a ‘hotheaded widow’, Jen, played by Applegate, who is coping with the loss of her husband in a traffic accident.
She becomes friends with an ‘eccentric optimist’, Judy, played by Cardellini, after they meet at a depression support group.
The dark humor show turned out to be a massive hit, with both the viewers and critiques appreciating the show for how it dealt with the sensitive issue of handling grief.
The interest of viewers in the series is greatly developed by the number of plot twists it has. (Spoiler Alert) Top of all is the ending cliffhanger scene, showing Judy’s ex-boyfriend in Jen’s pool.
At this point, nothing can be said about the story of the upcoming season but we are sure the two ladies will continue to work out their troubled yet resilient friendship.
The show’s producer Liz Feldman has assured the audience that the latest iteration of the season will be equally dark.
She said: “There’s an evening of the score and there’s a re-balancing that will take place and almost, in some ways, a role reversal.
“This show will always be a show that explores the dark sides and the light sides of grief, loss, forgiveness and friendship. So, suffice to say, there will be more darkness.”
Liz told Entertainment Weekly: “What I wanted to do was create a situation where they’re forced together, and they need each other now in some ways more than they did at the beginning of season 1.”
Replaced!
