Although many of us own at least one pet, not many would have been approached by complete strangers in the streets who come up to them and offer money so the strangers can take a picture with their pet dog.
However, that’s one of the perks of owning two New Foundland dogs.
Josh and Bee Fisher live with their three boys in California. What makes the Fishers a bit more special are their two pet dogs – Boss and Ralphie are New Foundland dogs that weigh 180 pounds and 140 pounds, respectively.
New Foundland Dogs are renowned for two things – their massive size and unbelievably gentle and friendly nature. In fact, they are so gentle that even the young kids have no problem walking these big friendly giants.
Bee, who is a nurse, said that almost everyone who passes by stops and is amazed by the size of Boss and Ralphie. She added that many ask if they may take a picture with the dogs. Bee said she thinks people are not intimidated by the size of the dogs because they look like fluffy teddy bears.
Bee also said she finds it amusing how everyone almost always asks the same questions – how much the dogs weigh, if they shed a lot of fur, and quite often how big the canines’ dungs are.
Josh, the father of the family, says that there are of course some difficulties and challenges when caring for two large pooches like Boss and Ralphie. While the relatively lighter Ralphie has no problem jumping on to the car, the heavier Boss needs to be lifted by Josh into the family car.
While this maybe a difficult task for the more combative dogs, the Fishers say that Boss is so familiar with the drill that he knows exactly what’s going on. In fact, when the family gets on the car, Boss will put up his paws into the back and wait for Josh to lift his rear legs.
Although the two dogs share a grandfather, Bee says that Boss and Ralphie are completely different when it comes to their personalities. While Boss enjoys lying down on the floor, Ralphie seeks attention and is always lively and energetic.
