There was a time in history when women were supposed to take care of the house and family and men went out to earn livelihood.
Soon the world started believing that women are living inside the boundaries of their houses because they are not capable enough to walk out of their homes and take care of themselves. This meant they will always need a man to take care of them.
While this is a thing of past and almost the entire world has moved on with women traveling to space alone, there still is a country in this world that still thinks in the same way.
Saudi Arabia still does not give women all the rights a woman should have. Starting from the basic, women in the country were not allowed to drive cars till some months ago but now they are.
There is one more such law. The women in the country are not allowed to travel abroad without the permission of a male member of the family.
Yes, the law still exists but the good news is, by the end of this year, the law will change and the women would not need the permission of any male relative.
This comes under the rule of guardianship. This means women do not need the permission of their male guardian to do a few things.
But there are still some laws that will remain the same. In the country, the women are still not allowed to marry someone or to walk out of the prison without the permission of a male relative.
There have been various reports that many inmates had been in prison even after their scheduled time because their guardian never came to claim them and take them home.
