The new Netflix horror film is leaving viewers ‘flushing phones down the toilet.
’
Wounds, starring Armie Hammer, Zazie Beetz, and Dakota Johnson, is a psychological horror movie written and directed by Babak Anvari. It is based on the novella ‘The Visible Filth’ by Nathan Ballingrud.
The story follows Will (played by Hammer), a bartender whose world turned upside down when he retrieved a lost phone.
The mobile device started to subject him to hallucinations and disturbing visions before it turned him against his partner Carrie(played by Johnson) and bar customer Alicia (Beetz).
His actions became out of control that he couldn’t differentiate between reality and his dark hallucinations.
Will was then drawn towards a horrifying dark portal reminiscent of the Upside Down.
Those who have already seen the movie had strong reactions on social media. One internet user wrote: “Wounds means no sleep and no phone for me anymore FFS.”
Another posted: “Swear to God my phone is OFF LIMITS after seeing Wounds. Reckon it’s safe if I turn on airplane mode?”
A third said: “Just watched Wounds on Netflix and guess I’m gonna have to flush my phone now. No demons for me thanks.”
Someone else wrote: “I just finished watching WOUNDS on Netflix, starring Armie Hamner and Zazie Beetz. It’s pure unadulterated horror, but I honestly can’t say if it was good or not. The ending was so abrupt. Anyone care to weigh in on this? #Shocktober.”
Wounds is now available to stream on Netflix.
