The fast-moving wildfire burning in New Jersey has forced thousands of people to evacuate their residences.
On Tuesday, the Jones Road wildfire resulted in the evacuation of nearly 5000 residents and threatened 1300 structures as it burned in Ocean County.

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service explained how the fire had grown rapidly to feature nearly 11,500 acres of land and was 30% contained as of the morning hours of today.
Officials explained how those who were forced to flee could go back to their homes but they were warned about thick smoke impacting shrouding communities.

The number of structures under threat were also dropping with was a positive sign but authorities are currently investigating the matter.
One commercial building was completely destroyed and along with that, several other outbuilding and vehicles were involved. The blaze sparked near Barnegat Township and swiftly tripled in size over a small time period. The cause of this is still under investigation. Due to the fire, a stretch of the Garden State Parkway which is one of the biggest and busiest highways, had to be shut down on Tuesday. It reopened during the morning hours of Wednesday.
