Canines of all shapes and sizes rocked in their finest couture as they arrived on the show.

The event was hosted by International Veterinary Science, this year’s theme was ‘World Couture for Animal Rescue.’ Many people described it as futuristic fashion, in which pups were decorated head-to-toe in space gear.
Some people were inspired by movies, with a Men in the Black dog making an appearance, alongside aliens with googly eyes and Stormtroopers. Two pooches brought their own UFO to hang out in.
We saw another dog with a NASA-themed spaceship, complete with a red carpet (the first dog on the moon, we bet). The event also included three runway shows: Sci-Fi Couture: 2020 A Space Odyssey, Haute Couture: High Fashion for Animal Rescue and Best in Show.
Of course, not only dogs but many fabulous-looking felines also make their excellent presence felt at the event.
It’s the biggest pet fashion and animal benefit show in the States, but there’s more than just dressed-up dogs.
The money raised by this event will be used for the New York Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals. It is a charity that works with more than 150 rescue groups and shelters to save the city’s homeless animals.
There was even a turtle or two put in an appearance — fashionably on point of course! Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael have nothing on this girl.
Unfortunately, famous faces declined to take part in the fashion show with their pets. But, we hope the likes of Nugget Perry make it down the catwalk in the future.
Nugget could face some strong competition from Lady Gaga’s little Frenchie, Miss Asia, who even has her own Instagram page!
The results of this year’s New York show is not announced yet. We just hope there will be hundreds of new homes for the glamorous entrants.
