Childbirth is a very special moment that will always be remembered and deserves to be captured.
That’s why photographer Rodrigo Kunstmann takes photos of the first moments of a new life and the results make people feel emotional and contemplative.
However, a particular photo he took last week quickly went viral not only because it was heartwarming and life-affirming but also because it hilariously showed the grumpy reaction of a newborn.
Kunstmann was prepared to photograph the moment Isabela Pereira de Jesus was born via c-section in a hospital in Brazil.
Babies usually come out wailing and screaming and if they are quiet, doctors will try to make them cry to they know their lungs are developed and functioning properly.
However, Isabela angrily stared at the doctor who was trying to make her cry.
The photographer shared the hilarious photo on Facebook where it quickly went viral. In an interview with Crescer, he said: “She opened her eyes wide and didn’t cry, she made a ‘sulky’ face, her mother gave a kiss and it was only after they cut the umbilical cord that she started to cry.
“When I posted it, I thought it would have the potential to become a meme, but it’s always a matter of luck.”
Isabela’s mother, Daiane, said to news outlet G1: “My baby was born courageous. It’s a meme already.
“She always wrinkles her forehead when changing diapers and nursing. Isabela was supposed to be born on the 20th, but she chose her day already showing her personality.”
The photo is definitely funny and people can sympathize with baby Isabela. Just imagine someone tearing the roof off your house and drag you out of bed, you would be showing that reaction too!
