For anybody who says that dogs are man’s best friend has probably never seen a dog with a toddler. Once a kid becomes fond of a dog, they become inseparable. Many videos of dogs that we find online are of kids and dogs having fun together.
Dogs and kids seem to understand one another at a level incomprehensible by adults. They are so much alike. The bond between a kid and a dog is just like that of siblings. Moreover, a recent study shows that kids prefer their dogs to their siblings.
This video that went viral on social media is of a little girl, Sierra, trying to explain to her Newfoundland dog, Samson about a history lesson that she might have learned in her class that day.
The reason for her excitement seems to be the fact that her history story has a mention of the same breed dog as Samson. Seaman is the hero of her story. He has a mention in history for being a part of the ‘Lewis and Clark Expedition’ of the 19th century.
It was the first US excursion to cross the western part of the USA. Seaman became renowned for being a part of this voyage from the Mississippi River to the Pacific and back. Seaman was the only animal to survive the entire expedition.
Captain Meriwether Lewis in Pennsylvania bought him.
The video shows how excited Sierra is to tell her dog, Samson, about his ancestor’s bravery.
And it looks like Samson too is very excited about it, though the reason for his happiness might simply be coming to see his owner happy. In spite, she gets most of her facts wrong here, but their pleasure in being with each other is enough.
