Hulk star Lou Ferrigno has been accused of abusive and controlling behavior by estranged wife Carla Ferrigno.
The actor and bodybuilder, who appeared in the 1970s show The Incredible Hulk, recently shocked the public after suing his eldest daughter, Shanna, and accusing her of elder abuse towards his wife.
According to Ferrigno, his daughter was financially exploiting him and her mother and turning the woman against him amid her battle with “advanced dementia.”
Now, just days after the news of the lawsuit, Lou’s wife of 43 years filed for divorce while making bombshell allegations saying her estranged husband was physically intimidating her.
“While his infidelity may not be abuse, when I get upset with him about her being around, he physically intimidates me, by getting into my face and using his much larger size—he will remind everyone that he is the Hulk—compared to my slight stature, to scare and control me into submission,” the former actress wrote in her divorce papers.
Carla also claimed that her husband would lock her in their home and prevent her from leaving the kitchen and bedroom. He was also accused of refusing to install stair traction for her protection.
Following the accusations, the actor spoke out through his lawyers in a statement obtained by The Blast.
“Lou Ferrigno’s priority remains his wife’s welfare. All of the restraining orders recently mentioned in the press have been suspended upon mutual agreement of the parties,” the statement read.
It went on to say that the actor wishes to “reach an amicable resolution” while insisting the pair had already agreed to mediate.
