Actress Renee Zellweger is engaged to her boyfriend Ant Anstead after two years of dating.
The 54-year-old Bridget Jones star and the 44-year-old British TV presenter have been dating since 2021. Now, following a secret engagement, the couple is allegedly also planning their wedding.
“Renee and Ant are keeping their plans incredibly private, they’re not planning a big public announcement,” a friend of the couple told The US Sun.
The insider continued: “She has been telling her inner circle about organizing their nuptials, everything will be very low-key. Her relationship with Ant is super strong and they’re madly in love, and they can’t wait to get hitched.”
Anstead was previously married on two occasions and shares three children with his exes. Meanwhile, Zellweger herself had trouble finding love with her love story often being compared to that of Bridget Jones, the hopeless romantic that she portrayed in Helen Fielding’s namesake novel adaptation.
Throughout the years, the actress dated a number of high-profile actors including Bradley Cooper and ‘Me, Myself & Irene’ co-star Jim Carrey.
In 2005, after her failed relationship with Jim Carrey and rocker Jack White, Renee tied the knot with country star Kenny Chesney. The union, however, came to an end just two months later with “fraud” being listed as the main reason for the break-up.
In 2009, the actress got romantically involved with Bradley Cooper. The couple split two years later after moving in together.
More recently, from 2012 to 2019, Zellweger was in a serious relationship with musician Doyle Bramhall II.
“All the things that you would most like not to have in common with Bridget are the things that I find I relate to most closely,” the actress previously said of her most iconic role.
“I’ve had moments when I feel like I’m sitting beside myself watching my Bridget alter ego just spiraling, circling the drain.”
As of this writing, Renee and Ant have yet to confirm the good news. Congratulations on the engagement!
