Adam Sandler has paid a touching tribute to Kirstie Alley after her sudden passing at the age of 71.
The Cheers and Veronica’s Closet star passed away on Monday shortly after her colon cancer diagnosis, her family revealed.
Since her death, thousands of entertainment figures paid the actress a tribute and recalled the memories they shared.
Among them is also Adam Sandler, 56, who appeared alongside Kirstie in an SNL episode sketch featuring Il Cantore Restaurant back in 1991.
“Gonna miss this lady. Absolutely fearless funny sweet human being. Love to her whole family. Thinking of them all,” the actor and producer wrote.
Paying a tribute to the devout scientologist was also John Travolta who starred alongside Alley in Look Who’s Talking movies.
“Kirstie was one of the most special relationships I’ve ever had. I love you Kirstie. I know we will see each other again,” the Hollywood legend penned.
Meanwhile, plenty of other entertainment icons spoke out to praise Alley’s talent and her dedication to her career in acting.
“I’ve just heard the sad news that Kirstie Alley has died. She was a great comic foil in Scream Queens and a beautiful mama bear in her very real life,” Jamie Lee Curtis wrote.
“She helped me buy onesies for my family that year for Christmas. We agreed to disagree about some things but had a mutual respect and connection.”
Her ex-husband, Parker Stevenson, added: “Dear Kirstie, I am so grateful for our years together, and for the two incredibly beautiful children and now grandchildren that we have. You will be missed.”
Marlee Matlin expressed: “She was complex, energetic, animated and hilarious. And she was my friend. Sending my condolences to her family. RIP Kirstie Alley.”
