Designated Survivor and The Cleaning Lady star Adan Canto has passed away at the age of just 43 after a battle with appendiceal cancer.
The Mexican-American actor, who portrayed Vice President-elect Aaron Shore in the beloved drama series, passed away on Monday, his representative confirmed.
“Adan had a depth of spirit that few truly knew. Those who glimpsed it were changed forever. He will be greatly missed by so many,” the statement read.
Now, Adan’s wife, Stephanie Ann Canto, broke her silence with a tear-jerking tribute in which she shared a quote from the Bible while branding her husband and the father of her two children as her treasure.
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also,” Stephanie shared, quoting Matthew 6:19-21.
She added: “Forever my treasure Adan. See you soon.”
Stephanie and Adan got married in 2017. Together, they share a three-year-old son Roman and a one-year-old girl named Eve Josephine.
The couple could often be seen sharing glimpses from their private life with their fans on social media where they often posted tributes to each other on their anniversaries.
“It just keeps getting better. So blessed to have found you,” Canto wrote in 2018 on the pair’s first anniversary.
In 2020, after Stephanie fell pregnant with their first child, he shared: “I feel immensely humbled and honored to have been given the blessing of Family. I thank God for allowing my wife and I to have met in such an unlikely place and time. I thank him for her heart, mind and spirit, that remind me daily of the man I strive to be. I thank him for the opportunity to raise a new soul with her, and to shape his mind with a solid foundation of Honor, Love, Strength and Understanding.”
Our thoughts remain with Stephanie, Roman, and Eve during this challenging time.
