Adele’s event organizer is requiring all attendees to be fully vaccinated and have a negative Covid-19 test within 48 hours before the concert.
Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, 33, is an English singer and songwriter. She is one of the world’s best-selling music artists, with sales of over 120 million records. Her accolades include fifteen Grammy Awards and nine Brit Awards.
Adele made her music comeback this year and confirmed last month that she would be the latest superstar taking up a Vegas residency, following in the footsteps of the likes of Britney Spears and Sir Elton John.
Despite the pandemic, the British music superstar sent the globe into a frenzy when she announced the 24-date run at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Sin City. And as Covid-19 concern grows with the spread of the new Omicron variant, fans of Adele wanting to see the singer in her concert in Las Vegas Nevada needs to be double-jabbed before entering the show.
A statement on Ticketmaster states: “The Event Organiser is requiring all attendees of this event to have been fully vaccinated (14 days past final vaccination shot ) AND to have received a negative COVID-19 test within 48-hours of the event”.
“Both proof of vaccination AND proof of negative test within 48-hours of the event is required to enter the event. Both documents are required for entry and can be displayed on your smartphone or as physical copies. Tests administered via an at-home kit will not be permitted,” it added.
The vaccine requirement extends to anyone who is eligible to receive a vaccine. Children not eligible will still be required to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test and also wear a mask at the event.
Rod Steward, 76, is also performing at the 4,300 seater venue and unvaccinated fans are allowed at his show as long as they wear a mask and have a temperature check before entering. Sting, 70, Fields of Gold singer, will also play in The Colosseum next June and currently has no Covid restrictions for attendees listed.
In November, Adele’s new album 30 became 2021’s best-selling album in the US, just three days after its release. According to a Billboard report, 30 sold over 500,000 copies in the US between November 19 and 21.
Her return was welcomed around the world, with her latest album racking up 60.7 million streams in one day, according to Spotify. The star was in tears as she made her return to the stage in front of a star-studded audience in London last month.
Adele said: “It’s too unpredictable, with all the rules and stuff. I don’t want anyone coming to my show scared. And I don’t want to get Covid, either.”
Speaking upon the release on her long-awaited album 30, she admitted that she struggled with drinking during the pandemic but didn’t find the lockdown itself took an emotional toll.
She said: “Everyone had to face a lot of their demons because they had so much time on their hands with nothing to distract them. They had to face themselves in isolation. Whereas I did that the year before.”
“It got earlier and earlier, the drinking. My first emergency run at the grocery store was for Whispering Angel rosé and ketchup. Whispering Angel turned me into a barking dog. It did not make me whisper,” she added.
As Covid concerns continue to grow, Welsh band Stereophonics have axed their gigs this Christmas while Phil Collins and Paul Weller had to cancel some of theirs after band members tested positive for the virus. Dua Lipa also had to reschedule her Future Nostalgia UK and European tour to Spring 2022.
Adele recently wowed her guests during her filming for ITV’s “An Audience with Adele”, but not before she admitted to being nervous. Taking to the stage, the singer confessed: “I’m so nervous,” before putting on a star performance.
The occasion marked her first UK visit in two years and she was joined on stage by partner Rich Paul, 39.
The singer’s Weekends With Adele will take place between 21 January and 16 April 2022, with two shows held each weekend. Adele has also announced two open-air shows in London’s Hyde Park next July.
