It was a day of chaos at a Canadian airport after a plane declared an emergency while making at an attempt at landing.
The Air Canada flight went up in flames while sliding down the runway. Thankfully, no major injuries were reported but it was definitely a terrifying situation for many.
The incident arose at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport which was soon shut down after the incident. The Air Canada flight was operating from St. Johns when it suddenly caught on fire after the wheels didn’t properly open up during landing.
The plane was operated by PAL Airlines detailed more about the horrifying incident that came after a passenger plane crashed and hit a concrete wall in South Korea, killing all passengers while two crew members survived.
More details spoke about how the plane started to sit at a nearly 20-degree angle towards the left-hand side when this incident happened.
The sound was so loud and for many, it sounded like a crash. The plane’s wing began to skid alongside the pavement with the engine.
More witnesses described how the plane was shaking a lot and all of a sudden, people started to see fire on the plane’s left-hand side while smoke began coming in the windows.
The plane roughly skidded down the runway for a decent amount of time as pilots frantically made attempts to change the situation that arose. After coming to a stop, sources confirmed that passengers were evacuated in minutes while emergency crews did everything to put out the blaze.
