Actress Amber Heard is not planning on letting go so soon as the celeb was recently seen filing a new appeal against the defamation suit by actor Johnny Depp.
During the summertime, the world witnessed the bitter trial that ended with the actor achieving victory against Heard. She was found liable for defaming the actor in a Washington Post op-ed from 2018.
In that particular article, Heard spoke about being a victim of domestic abuse and despite Johnny Depp not being mentioned, many felt it was clearly about him as he was her former husband.
Depp was provided with a massive check for $15 million. Depp was seen appealing for the compensation award of $2 million that would be granted in favor of Heard. He and his legal team felt it was not fair and that it needed to be rectified.
On that note, we saw Amber Heard’s team of legal experts file an appeal against the verdict. After being dismissed, they have now opted to appeal again and it has definitely left plenty of questions on people’s minds.
Their appeal this time includes some interesting findings. For instance, they claim that the trial took place in the wrong state.
Similarly, they mentioned how it was just not fair to disallow certain pieces of evidence that they felt could have made some striking points in the case.
Whether or not such factors would even make a difference, well, only time can tell. But one thing is for sure. A plea rejected once has fewer chances for acceptance a second time.
A portion of the evidence, as revealed by local media outlets, featured notes from Amber Heard’s therapists. These included their claims of how Heard was subjected to domestic abuse and violence during that time.
