Russian President Vladimir Putin has thrown out a new gauntlet for a potential war in the future for the Arctic region after declaring how serious Trump was about annexing Greenland.

He shared a new warning to the world about how Russia is watching Trump’s every move with so much closeness.

‘We are talking about a serious plan on the American side with regard to Greenland. These plans have a long-standing history’- Putin shared.

Greenland is said to be strategically important for the North Atlantic as a buffer between Russia and North America.

Putin’s comments were his first public intervention on the issue, and the timing couldn’t be more apt, as Trump has made it very clear again how Greenland belongs to the US and it needs it.

Vice President JD Vance and his wife Ushna received a cold welcome in the country as many were not interested in carrying out talks, despite Trump sharing that their visit had no political motive.

They were seen paying a visit to the Pituffik Space Base on the country’s northern edge. Trump’s National Security Adviser Mike Waltz is said to be with them at all times.
