Ariana Grande has hit back at her body shamers after critics suggested she looked unrecognizable as they slammed her ever-changing appearance.
The 29-year-old singer recently sparked gossip and concern among her fans who made comments about her weight loss and said she looked sickly and like the “unhealthiest version” of herself.
Now, the ‘Thank U, Next’ hitmaker spoke out to dismiss any rumors and assure her fans that she was doing well and that she is now healthier than ever.
In a candid video she shared on social media, the young superstar sported a pink tank top and a grey hoodie as she said:
“I don’t do this often. I don’t like it. I’m not good at it. But I just wanted to address your concerns about my body and talk a little bit about what it means to be a person with a body and to be seen and to be paid such close attention to.
“I think we should be gentler and less comfortable commenting on people’s bodies, no matter what.”
Ariana continued: “If you think you’re saying something good or well-intentioned, whatever it is, healthy or unhealthy, big or small, this or that, sexy or not sexy, we should really work towards not doing that as much.
“I think we should help each other work towards just being safer and keeping each other safer.”
Concluding her message to the world, the singer went on to say that the body her fans had been comparing her current photos to was the unhealthiest version of her and that she is now in a better condition than she was in the past.
Grande also explained that “there are many different kinds of beautiful” and “many different ways to look healthy and beautiful.”
