The Ukrainian nation has been struck by a massive cyberattack against the country’s government as well as banks.
The news just a few hours after the country declared a nationwide state of emergency after its declaration for the preparation for a feared invasion by Russia.
According to local media reports, the attacks struck several websites including those relating to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defence, and the Security Service. Source claim that even the cabinet of ministers was forced to move out of action during the afternoon hours of Wednesday.
In the same way, a number of leading bomb threats were also made via telephonic conversations to several leading buildings of the Government. This was reportedly thought to be a major part of the huge psychological pressure campaign by the Russians, in particular Moscow.
On the other hand, the Deputy Prime Minister stated how banks appeared to be a major threat and seemed to be distributed with so many denials of service claims due to the attack.
These banks were blasted with computer networks that bombarded the websites with so much information until they crashed.
Experts are now warning that this is what Russia stated would be their first step towards carrying out a major attack.
The news comes at a time when the Russian nation was put on war footing after Putin stated that his army was ready. On that note, a state of emergency was also declared by Ukraine with its army gearing up.
More than 200,000 military servicemen were called up to the border zones and these were restricted with around three million Ukrainian citizens being informed to leave Russia immediately.
This was also the first time that Kieve acknowledged how an attack could place anytime and at any moment.
