Arnold Schwarzenegger has reportedly sent out a direct plea to Russian President Putin, asking him to end his illegal war.
The renowned actor took to his account on social media to put out the direct message to the Russian Head of State.
“You started this war, you are the one leading it. And you are the one that can stop it”- he continued.
Moreover, Arnold also took this opportunity to reveal how he was a long-time friend to the Russian people, especially after he became inspired by star bodybuilder Yuri Petrovich Vlasov when the actor was just 14 years old.
The viral nine-minute-long clip has garnered more than 250,000 views on Instagram within a span of just 60 minutes.
The direct appeal is not only to Putin but also to the Russian people to take a moment and shed light on what the truth of the matter is and how the invasion of Ukraine is a total humanitarian catastrophe.
In the same way, the Austrian-American actor was quick to reveal how he shared immense love and respect for Russia and found it hard to see the devastating conflict that was taking place, as the war enters its third week.
Arnold also raised a direct question to Putin and his Kremlin members, asking them: “Why would you sacrifice all of those young men for your own ambitions?”
Thousands of people began commenting their support and praise on the matter as well as the courage that the actor had to raise the issue in public.
The news comes at a time when the Pentagon says that almost 7000 troops from Russia have died in the catastrophe while another 14,000 have been injured.
