A heartbreaking incident has reportedly left one family grieving and shattered forever due to a brutal dog attack.
According to reports from local media outlets, the horrifying incident arose when a family dog went wild and suddenly attacked a toddler. But when his grandmother rushed in to save the child from the brutal beast, he ended up attacking her too.
Both family members suffered savage injuries and were critically injured. But despite the attempts of medical professionals to intervene. the child was unable to make out alive and passed away.
Meanwhile, his grandmother is fighting for her life in the hospital’s ICU. The child was only 9 months old and the parents claim it was an absolute nightmare come to life.
As more investigations regarding the tragedy take center stage, sources mentioned how the pet was a mixed breed between a hound and a boxer.
He was immediately put down after the incident and clearly, this was not the sort of behavior that his owners had hoped for from him. It’s still not clear what led to the dog behaving in this manner or what triggered him.
The police chief for the Waterloo police department revealed how the dog bit the child and his grandmother inside their residence in Iowa.

The woman’s injuries are outlined as critical. She was rushed to a nearby medical center called Allen Hosptial but later on, she was flown to Iowa University hospital after doctors felt she needed more medical attention.
