It seems like the controversy linked to gender row boxer Imane Khelif doesn’t plan on ending anything soon.
The star is now in the middle of more drama after a leading women’s rights group launched a scathing attack on the Algerian gold medalist.
They want all of her awards and medals to be stripped as soon as possible. According to them, the recent report that is yet to be deemed legitimate is causing a stir.
It spoke about how the star has XY chromosomes and male characteristics which is enough to determine her biological male status.
Khelif won gold at this year’s Paris Olympics and since then, she’s been going viral for her gender eligibility status.
Despite her father showing evidence in the form of a birth certificate that declared her a female at birth, advocates for women’s rights want more.
The fact that she was barred from last year’s IBA-sanctioned Women’s World Boxing Championship raised eyebrows but still, she was allowed to compete in Paris.
Khelif says she’s going to take legal action against the makers of the report that falsely declared her as a biological male, adding how it’s only being done to create more controversy and nothing else.
