Kathy Griffin reportedly filed for divorce from her husband Randy Bick on Thursday in Los Angeles.
According to reports from local media outlets, the documents were filed in the LA Superior Court and a copy was obtained recently by media outlet Page Six.
The top-of-the-line Fashion Police alum listed the exact date for separation as December 22, 2023, and then went on to cite irreconcilable differences as the leading cause for the pair’s split.
Moreover, this filing showed how Griffin and the marketing executive ended up signing a prenuptial agreement on December 23 which was just nine days before they both said ‘I do’ on New Year’s Day.
The ‘My life on the D-list’ star is now generating requests in the court to enforce her prenup which would remove the chance for either party to be rewarded with any kind of financial assistance or support.
63-year-old Griffin and Bick do not have any kids together but the star has referred to the news as very devastating and how it sucks to be in this position. But at the same time, she does recall how it was needed and there was just no way out for them than this.
The comedian was the first to go public with news of her engagement, four years back and soon after that, the pair opted to tie the knot and seemed to be so much in love. The ceremony was officiated by top-of-the-line actress Lily Tomlin.
The actress also mentioned during that period how she wanted to wed right after the clock stuck for midnight so that the pair could have a wonderful start to the year 2020.
The now-former couple were never married a year when the star was diagnosed with lung cancer, even though she never smoked a single cigarette in her life.
She was forced to undergo rapid surgery to have a huge part of her lung removed but then in the year 2021, she was confirmed as beating the disease.
