The Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, was seen carrying nearly $3000 in cash when her bag was stolen.
When asked why she was carrying so much money, she shared how she wished to hand out the funds to family as Easter gifts.
The so-called ICE Barbie was robbed while she happened to be dining at the Capital Burger in Washington, DC, despite being accompanied by her Secret Service detail.
Thanks to one law enforcement source who disclosed the matter to CNN, there were many valuables inside that bag, which was stolen on Sunday.
The man was able to take off with Noem’s driver’s license, meds, house keys, DHS badge, passport, makeup, empty checks, and even the $3000 in cash, one source mentioned.
‘Her entire family was in town, including her kids and grandkids – she was using the withdrawal to treat her loved ones to dinner, activities, and Easter presents’ – the spokesperson explained how a wedge of cash is now missing.
After going through the eatery’s security footage, the Secret Service says that they were determined to bring her bag back after it was snatched by a white man in a medical mask.
