What would you do if your bank refused to allow you to debit money from your own account?
One man is expressing his extreme fury at the Commonwealth Bank after they reportedly denied him access to his own bank account.
According to local media reports, the man who goes by the name Richard Dargham says he made several attempts to withdraw nearly $15,000 from his account recently but just couldn’t get access. And in case you’re wondering why, well, the answer is pretty simple.
The bank wanted to know where he plans on spending that amount as in a proper justification.
Since the funds belonged to Richard and no one else, he felt that it was just not fair. And after several failed attempts, he says he literally was left with no choice but to tell the bank where that money would be spent, to his dismay.
” I just did not wish to create any massive scene at the bank’s branch. And hence if that means swallowing my pride and leaving the branch, I was willing to do it”- he went on to add.
“When they asked me what I planned on doing with the cash, I told them they had zero rights of doing so. It didn’t matter if I was going to use the funds at a strip club or whether it would be used for charity, that’s none of your business!”- the furious customer explained.
When he made complaints to the bank, they told the customer that this was just done for security purposes and the system erroneously assumed that the account was being hacked by scammers.
This was related to the giant amount of money requested. They also reassured him that something like this wouldn’t happen again, adding how sorry they were for any humiliation he may have witnessed during the time of the incident.
