It’s another day of drama and controversies in Qatar as FIFA has informed Qatar officials that they can’t stop fans from wearing rainbow colors.
A lot of fans were seen feeling distressed and furious as their entry into the stadiums was banned if they had hues that resembled the rainbow.
This included a recent incident where female fans were reportedly not allowed inside due to the presence of rainbow-colored bucket hats present across their heads. This particular incident reportedly took place at Wales vs USA match and has now become the subject of much debate on various online platforms like Twitter.
Meanwhile, one US journalist who goes by the name Grant Wahl was also witnessed facing a ban from entering the FIFA World Cup stadium as he donned a t-shirt that had rainbow hues all over it.
Security guards could be seen aggressively demanding so many people remove their tops and claiming it was for their own safety inside the stadium.
Meanwhile, a number of Qatari academics were seen praising the guards and blasting all those they labeled as westerners while having a laugh amongst each other as well.
In case you were not aware, couples of the same gender have been frowned upon for years in Muslim nations as it goes against the country’s traditions and beliefs. And inside a nation that follows a strict shariah law, it only makes sense why such behavior is not being promoted.
But many were left feeling confused as the country’s officials mentioned that Qatar welcomes all and now seeing such behavior arise is definitely alarming.
