One teenager from Tenessee has just spent nearly five daunting days at a hospital’s ICU after suffering from the worst episode of pneumonia due to her vaping addiction.
The teenager was identified as 18-year-old Juliet Roberts who initially began vaping when she was just 14.
And during her 4 years, she always thought she was doing herself the favor of opting for the healthy alternative when it came down to smoking. But little was she aware of the hazardous health effects that e-cigarettes were having on her lungs.
Juliet landed at TriStar hospital in her home state on January 7 after reports about her struggling to breathe were received by paramedics.
During that period, doctors rushed to put her on life support for nearly five long days as she just couldn’t breathe.
While she’s discharged now, the horror isn’t over yet as she’s forced with no choice but to use oxygen support 24/7 due to her lungs being damaged.
The teen spoke about how quickly she became addicted to vaping, adding how her school friends used to use them routinely and so that’s how she got introduced to it too.
“I would go through disposable e-cigarettes every two weeks,” she stated.
But the decision to vape cost her years of lung damage, leaving her in a desperately ill state.
Concerned doctors were shocked to see her chest x-ray that featured all alarming signs relating to lung tissue damage. Moreover, they even spoke about how the toxic chemical used in these products resulted in her alarming pneumonia state too.
Now, the teen has vowed to never use e-cigarettes again as she’s at risk of having a heart attack due to the strain on her lungs.
