A high school track meet in Virginia took a shocking new turn when a runner struck her competitor with a baton.
This led to her getting charged for assault and battery yesterday.

The suspect shown in the footage is seen ramming the baton on the head of the opponent, causing her to suffer a concussion and a possible skull fracture.
This forced Kaelen Tucker to stop and hold her head in shock and pain of the attack that just took place all of a sudden.

Her opponent that struck her was a senior named Alaila Everett whose baton made the contact with Tucker’s head, forcing her to seek immediate medical attention, and Alaila getting disqualified.
Now, the suspect is breaking her silence, trying to prove her innocence after all the hate and backlash she’s gotten from the matter.
Alaila mentioned how she was always about sportsmanship and how she would never do something like this on purpose.
She tried to share new images and angles of the matter, trying to tell the world that mistakes happen and how she shouldn’t be penalized over a matter like this.
But no matter how much she explains, people are not happy with all that she has to say.
She was seen getting slammed left and right over the matter, and many raised queries over the incident and what kinds of rules of safety are in place to keep people safe in the future. Also, the fact that no one from Everett and her team came forward to apologize or check upon the victim said a lot. What do you think?
