Gene Hackman and Betsy Arakawa’s property was said to be a breeding ground for infestation, right before the couple’s death.
The New Mexico Department of Public Health uncovered dead rodents, feces, and nests right across eight different buildings on the pair’s New Mexico property worth $4 million, as per a new report taken by TMZ.
The environmental assessment was carried out in March after the pair’s bodies were found mummified on the property with no signs of foul play on February 26.
The feces were located in two small homes, three sheds, two cars, and three garages, as per the local media outlet. Rodent activity was also seen inside the three detached garages. As per the public health, the main house showed no signs of infestation.
The news comes after the haunting search was made by Hackman’s wife on her computer before her death.
It was clear that she was suffering from the deadly signs and symptoms of the Hantavirus as she looked up things like difficulty breathing and bleeding from the nose and mouth, excluding COVID-19.
She also canceled her appointment scheduled with the masseuse as a precaution.
