President Biden has reportedly announced the decision to open up America’s borders to nearly 100,000 Ukrainian refugees.
According to reports from local media outlets, the breaking announcement came during a time when the US president was being criticized by the world for not doing enough.
At the moment, the American Head of State is on a trip to Europe, and that is when he chose to announce this decision.
Biden is currently meeting with leaders of various NATO countries as well as those belonging to the G7 and European Union.
This trip will comprise of three different back-to-back sessions that have been called on an emergency basis during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
It is reportedly meant to assist in easing the ongoing Humanitarian crisis that is taking place in the eastern part of Europe.
And that is where nearly 3.5 million Ukrainian refugees have fled their home country in a desperate attempt to take refuge in a safe location.
Ukraine is continuously being bombarded on a daily basis, with many terming the current state of affairs as one of the greatest refugee crises to have taken place, since World War II.
Statistics from the United Nations revealed how thousands have flooded into different parts of Europe while some have even managed to make it all the way to America’s southern border so they can try and enter the nation this way.
In addition to all of this, the White House has reportedly announced a mega $ 1 billion package that would assist in funding all of the refugees that enter the American nation.
On Saturday, US President Biden is scheduled to address the current overwhelming refugee crisis in Poland, which appears to be the most widely accepting country of Ukraine’s fleeing refugees.
